Always a River, Sometimes a Library

Last modified March 28, 2006 08:40 PM

Three ways the library profession is broken; ways to fix it

Rick Anderson, Director of Resource Acquisition at the University of Nevada, Reno, explores the three ways the library profession is broken, and the four ways to fix it. He uses the Mississippi River as a metaphor for patron behavior, and gives us new and useful ways to think about our patrons. He will challenge us to think differently about our profession, our libraries and our relationships with our patrons.

Following the 90 minute presentation, the Iowa library community will discuss Mr. Anderson's topic, using the College of DuPage's suggested discussion questions as a guideline.

The program will be held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. February 3, 2006 at ICN sites around the state.  Click below for more information and to register.
