Beth Marie Quanbeck

Beth Marie Quanbeck has accepted the position of library consultant at the State Library effective April 2, 2007.  Beth Marie is currently employed by the Central Iowa Library Service Area as assistant administrator, a position she has held since 1994.  Prior to this position she was the director of Library Development for South Dakota State Library.  Quanbeck has a master's degree in information media from St. Cloud State University.

Beth Marie has extensive experience consulting with small, rural public libraries.  She is familiar with the federal E-rate program and statewide library programs such as EBSCOhost, FirstSearch, library statistics and more.  She has managed a statewide subscription database program and has experience evaluating library products.  She is also known as an excellent trainer and for her occasional roles in Town Meeting skits. 

At the State Library, Beth Marie will serve as statewide E-rate coordinator for Iowa libraries; work with the Iowa Educators Consortium to evaluate products and negotiate discounts for libraries; provide information about grant funding for libraries; coordinate statewide subscription database programs such as EBSCOhost; oversee the collection, analysis and publication of Iowa school library statistics.
