Last modified July 02, 2007 08:34 AM

Plan covers years 2008-2012

The State Library recently submitted Iowa's LSTA Five Year Plan 2008-2012 to the Institute of Museum and Library Services.  It describes how the State Library plans to use LSTA funds over the next five years.

In Iowa, LSTA funds are used primarily to support statewide library development initiatives and services such as:

  • summer library program
  • continuing education for library staff and library trustees and the certification program for  public library directors
  • statewide access to online reference databases such as EBSCOhost and FirstSearch
  • interlibrary loan network through maintenance of the State of Iowa Libraries Online (SILO)
  • public library standards and accreditation programs
  • publications such as Iowa Library Directory, Iowa Public Library Statistics, Iowa Library Trustee's Handbook
Questions or comments about the plan should be directed to Sandy Dixon, State Library.
