SILO Team Adds New Player
Nate Jarchow will serve as Instructional Support Specialist
The State Library is happy to announce that Nate Jarchow joined the SILO Program on March 5th as an Instructional Support Specialist. He will be responsible for supporting SILO's hosted DNS, e-mail, and Web services that are part of the PLOW Project. He will answer technical support questions through the SILO Help Desk. He will also prepare training and support materials for the State Library's Web site.
For the past year, Jarchow has worked for the Des Moines Area Community College as both an English instructor and a member of their help desk support staff. As an Instructor, he taught Composition I in both online and face-to-face formats. At the help desk, he was responsible for a variety of support ranging from desktop support to assisting with online course set up. Prior to this, he spent time working in support positions for Gateway, James Tower and Minnesota State University, Mankato.
Jarchow earned an associates of arts degree in computer networking from Southeast Technical Institute, Sioux Falls, SD as well as a bachelors of science and soon to be masters or arts degrees in English technical communication from Minnesota State University, Mankato.
