Public Library Association Conference Draws Many Iowans

Last modified April 07, 2008 03:11 PM

Many interesting and diverse programs provided something for everyone.

Nearly 10,000 library staff, supporters, exhibitors, authors and guests descended on the Minneapolis Convention Center, March 24-29, for various workshops and discussions that focused on key issues such as technology; serving adults; youth and new Americans; gaming in libraries; library design; and collection development; often drawing standing room only crowds. The conference offered attendees countless opportunities to hear bestselling authors, to get inspired by keynote speakers, to learn from industry experts, to network with their colleagues, and to explore the latest in library services from more than 800 vendors.

There were also many Iowans in attendance.  Click on the photos taken by Annette Wetteland and Gerry Rowland, State Library, for a glimpse of some Iowa librarians and other attendees.  (Upper left.  While there, be sure to click on page 2 for more pictures.)
