Dermont attends State Data Coordinators' Conference
Topics include collecting information from libraries
Scott Dermont, State Library Consultant, traveled to Washington, DC December 2-5 to attend the national State Data Coordinators' (SCD) Conference. The conference provides SDC's from all 50 states, Washington, DC, Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands the opportunity to meet face to face to discuss issues relating to the public library annual survey. The survey is administered to over 9,000 public libraries nationally and the data is used on the federal, state, and local levels. The results are correlated by the U.S. Census Bureau and disseminated by the Institute for Museum and Library Services, which sponsors the conference.
