New Online Class - Adventures in Storytelling
Readers' Advisory Series
Sign up for the new Readers' Advisory series, Adventures in Storytelling. Michele Leininger, State Library, and Katie Dunneback, Southeastern Library Services will be discussing various genres in depth, including the history of the genre, current trends and marketing, primary authors, sub-genres and genre-blending, publisher imprints, awards and organizations for each genre. At the end of each session, the instructors will lead a general discussion on titles read by the participants, the state of the genre in each library participating and what tools can be used or created to facilitate readers' advisory in the genre.
The first session will focus on Romance, followed by Mysteries in May, Fantasy in July, Historical Fiction in September and Science Fiction, Horror and Westerns in November.
Each session will be conducted in the State Library's online Live Classroom and will be limited to 15 people. The first date on March 19 is full, but due to the popularity, we have added a second class on April 2.
