A Glance at the 2008 Town Meeting in Iowa City

"The Engaged Library:  Getting to Know Your Community" was the topic of this year's annual Town Meetings.  State Library staff, with help from Library Service Areas, held the meetings in Mason City, Storm Lake, Creston, Iowa City, Waterloo and Urbandale.  Librarians spent time in the morning thinking about groups in their communities they could connect with to become more engaged in their city's economic, cultural and civic arenas.  Afternoon breakout sessions included "Getting the Most from Ebscohost 2.0," "Collection-Driven Services," and "Money Matters."
