This webinar series is for library staff interested in implementing digitization projects to preserve archival and historical information. Each session in the series will introduce basic concepts central to planning, implementing and ensuring the long-term success of projects.
"Select" is the second of six sessions, and will help identify the portion of digital content your organization is responsible for preserving. The process of selecting content for preservation is known by different terms in different domains, e.g., appraisal in archives, selection in libraries, possibly acquisition in museums, but there are common principles and outcomes that this session covers
The series is based on curriculum developed by the Library of Congress Digital Preservation Outreach and Education program, and presented by Tom Keyser, Iowa Library Services. Tom is a certified archivist, and is one of only 45 people nationwide trained to offer the Digital Preservation Outreach and Education program.
There are six sessions in this series and separate registration is required for each session. You do not have to take all six sessions to participate.
