This webinar series is for library staff interested in implementing digitization projects to preserve archival and historical information. Each session in the series will introduce basic concepts central to planning, implementing and ensuring the long-term success of projects.
"Manage" is the fifth of six sessions, and will cover the essentials of program planning, implementation, and sustainability for the long-term management of digital content. A core component of Manage is preservation planning. Preservation planning includes organizational aspects (e.g., policy development, planning, training, legal issues) and resources (e.g., designated funding and sustainability).
The series is based on curriculum developed by the Library of Congress Digital Preservation Outreach and Education program, and presented by Tom Keyser, Iowa Library Services. Tom is a certified archivist, and is one of only 45 people nationwide trained to offer the Digital Preservation Outreach and Education program.
There are six sessions in this series and separate registration is required for each session. You do not have to take all six sessions to participate.
