"It's Great to Collaborate"
Join your colleagues for the spring season of Director Roundtables when the topic will be collaboration. Iowa libraries are already quick to coordinate scheduling performers and splitting those expenses. Some are rotating large print, DVDs, and audio book collections. Some counties also plan countywide staff development days. But there's always room for more coordinated efforts! Like sharing the preparation for children and adult programming. Or going further, actually sharing personnel: one director managing two libraries, one technology wiz employed by two libraries-lots of staffing combinations to think about! Everyone will benefit from hearing about how libraries are collaborating, gaining strength and resources from each other.
In addition, District Consultants will demonstrate a new feature on our website called IOWA LIBRARY COMMONS. The COMMONS is a shared webspace for Iowa libraries to contribute their success stories: successful fundraising events, crowd-pleasing programming, staff-trustees-Friends recognition ideas, and more. So join us for spring 2014 Director Roundtables and talk about why "it's great to collaborate!"
