Help improve Broadband, WiFi, and E-rate at your library
Help improve the cost of broadband for Iowa libraries. Please take a few minutes to take this broadband speed test before August 1st, 2014.
Federal officials are seeking information from public libraries about the broadband speeds and WiFi access available in their libraries. This has taken the form of the Digital Inclusion Survey that is being sponsored by several different groups. But it’s success revolves around you. The survey is asking for librarians to supply speed test data at their libraries. Instructions are here:
You'll be asked to take two different speed tests -- one when the library is closed and one when the library is open. All Iowa libraries are already listed in their system by your Annual Survey ID number which is easy to find using the “Look it UP!” feature on the link above. The log- in code is the same as the log-in ID that you use for the Public Library Annual Survey.
Please try to take this speed test before August 1st, 2014. This information will be a great help in telling your story to policy makers about the needs of our public libraries.
