State Library offers two classes on patents and trademarks

Patent Application Dissection for the Faint of Heart

Want to know what goes into a patent application?  Find out all the nitty-gritty details of every patent part in this comprehensive class.  This class also introduces the Guide to Filing a Utility Patent Application, published by the US Patent & Trademark Office.  Includes handouts and time for questions and answers. Karon King, Patent and Trademark Specialist at the State Library, will teach this class for the Des Moines Public Schools Community Education program from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday, January 28th, Room 110, Roosevelt High School, 4419 Center Street in Des Moines, Iowa.

Trademark-Logo Searching for the Entrepreneur

King will also teach a class on how to search before you file a trademark application so it won't be denied. Learn advanced techniques in searching wordmarks and logos. Find out why trademark applications are approved or rejected. Includes handouts and time for questions and answers. The class will be held from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday, January 21st, Room 110, Roosevelt High School, 4419 Center Street in Des Moines, Iowa.
