This face to face session will offer lecture training and will demonstrate how to fill out Form 470 online and what each library should know about this step of the process. These courses will be held face to face in the districts across the state. These are half day sessions with a morning and an afternoon session. The session will be the same in both the morning and afternoon sessions. Participants will learn about the E-rate process and can begin to collect the information needed to file their E-rate forms. Participating Libraries should bring:
1. Highest Bill : A copy of their phone and/or Internet bill for a single month in the past year in which you paid the highest amount. Each participating library will need to bring along a copy of their highest bill for telephone (Local and Long distance) and/or Internet bills. This means that you should bring a copy of your bill from the last year that is the highest amount you paid all year. This will be necessary to bring along to determine your bid amount for your Form 470.
2. Pen and Paper to take notes.
3. E-rate PIN number (Personal Identification Number. Optional) If you have a electronic PIN number from previous years of filing E-rate you will need that to file the Form 470 online.
NOTE: If this is the first time your library is filing you will not have a PIN.
By the end of the session, participants will be able to:
- Describe the purpose and bidding process of form 470;
- Review the time frame of filing 470;
- Complete filing of form 470 on their own.
This is the first form in the E-rate process. There is a 28 day waiting period that has to take place before you can file the next form in the process.
