"Geek the Library" Campaign

I Geek Barbeque

The Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation recently announced a $5 million grant to the OCLC library cooperative to develop a public awareness campaign that highlights what people are passionate about and how libraries can support them, in an effort to heighten understanding about the critical funding issues public libraries face.

Geek the Library PowerPoint Presentation
For geek the library campaign participants

Attached is a brief Power Point presentation that is useful when speaking to local groups including Rotary, Kiwanis, Lions, the PTA, or anyone else who is important to your library.  Ask for a few minutes of an organization's time at one of their regular meetings. It's an excellent chance to reach out to influential people in your community who would like to know more about the campaign and what’s happening at your library. Use it with your board or Friends group, too. Upload the presentation to your computer using "save as."
