Annual Surveys 2006

Annual surveys collect current information about public service outlets, holdings, staffing, income, expenditures, circulation, services, and hours open of public and school libraries. Furthermore, it helps provide a total picture of libraries on a state and nationwide basis. These reports are authorized by law (Iowa Code 256.51 (H)).

2005 Public Library General Information Survey

The FY 2005 Annual Survey was in electronic format with Web Collect. All libraries with Internet access were required to complete the survey using Web Collect.

2005 School Library Media Center Survey

Iowa Code 256.51(h) requires the State Library of Iowa to collect data indicating current conditions, growth, and development of library services provided in Iowa, and to disseminate this information in a timely manner to the citizens of Iowa. A new era has begun for Iowa's school libraries with the annual collection of library data, beginning in 2002.

2004 Public Library General Information Survey

The 2004 Annual Survey for Public Libraries is available as an html file. View the form or the instructions.

The FY 2004 Annual Survey was available 7/1/04 in electronic format with Web Collect. All libraries with Internet access were required to complete the survey using Web Collect.

As of 2005, Output Measures are no longer required. They may be done every 3 years. Download and print the In-Library Materials Use Log, the Document Delivery Log, and the Document Delivery Tally Sheet. Also optional are the electronic usage form and the output measures form.
