The Budget Process and Funding
Planning for the library’s future growth and viability, which is dependent upon securing a strong financial base for library support, is an extremely important responsibility of library Boards, directors, and staff. This class session will examine all aspects of the budget process, including a review of funding sources, the annual budget process and ways to find additional sources of income.

- To understand where library funding comes from and how it is allocated
- To understand the timeline of the city, county and state budget process
- To understand the roles of the library board, director, city clerk and city council in the city budget process
