Public Library Management 1

This course gives an overview of public library management, including board management, budgeting, funding and policy development. The course is designed and intended for public librarians who need the course to meet the basic requirements for certification levels I through IV. The course methods include lecture and discussion over the Iowa Communications Network (ICN) as well as reading, written discussion questions and homework outside of class time. Access to the Internet and an e-mail account is required to complete this course.

ICN sites close to each attendee's library will be added at a later date. Registering for the first class automatically registers you for the entire course.

Who should attend: Public library directors are given first priority; others are admitted as space permits.
