Teleconferences, Webinars and Recorded programs

Library staff can obtain continuing education credit for attending national teleconferences, webinars and watching recordings of library related continuing education programs.

Many teleconferences and webinars will issue continuing education certificates either through the organization providing the training or through a sponsoring organization (such as Iowa Library Services).

To obtain credit:

  • If a CE certificate is not issued, or you watch a recorded program, you will need to fill out a Learning Activity Written Summary.  This is an online form that will go to the Continuing Education Consultant at Iowa Library Services.
  • After reviewing the information, the form will be e-mailed back to the person who submitted the form with the amount of continuing education credit awarded.  This e-mail will serve as a certificate and should be printed and saved with the person's other continuing education certificates.

Iowa Library Services has a number of DVDs and videos available for checkout. To look at a list of available titles, go to our catalog and do an advanced search using the general keyword libraries, and limiting the results to Media: Videos, DVDs, films, slides, etc.

NOTE: No more than 10 of the 45 contact hours required for recertification may be obtained by watching recordings of continuing education programs.
