ICN Scheduling and Cancellations
The State Library offers many continuing education events and other programs over the ICN. When we sponsor ICN events we want to:
-
Locate them conveniently for our customers
-
Use our limited financial resources responsibly
-
Be consistent in how we schedule events and how we treat special requests for additional sites
Effective May 1, 2006, our practice will be the following:
Scheduling ICN sites
1. When scheduling a library-related program the State Library will request all library ICN rooms. Additionally, we will request a few other ICN rooms in the north central part of the State as there are few library ICN rooms in that area.
2. After the ICN rooms have been posted for a particular program, the State Library will attempt to accommodate all additional requests if the closest ICN room is more than 30 miles from the attendee. This will be done at the State Library's expense.
3. If an attendee is unwilling or unable to go to an already scheduled ICN room within 30 miles, the attendee may ask for another ICN room to be scheduled at the expense of the attendee's library. A $15 per-hour service fee will be billed directly to the attendee's library.
4. ICN rooms must be requested by 4:00 p.m. three (3) weekdays prior to the scheduled class. [Example: If the class is scheduled to take place on a Tuesday, ICN requests must be in by the previous Thursday by 4:00 p.m.]
Canceling ICN Sites:
1. At 8:00 a.m. two (2) weekdays prior to the scheduled class, the State Library will cancel any ICN rooms that have no one registered to attend. [Using the example above, if the class is scheduled to take place on a Tuesday, ICN rooms where no one is registered to attend would be canceled on the previous Friday at 8:00 a.m.]
2. The State Library will use our Continuing Education Course Catalog to check to see if anyone is registered at each ICN room. If the Catalog shows zero (0) in a particular room, it will be canceled.
