Recertification Requirements
To renew a Certificate, you must obtain 45 continuing education credits of approved activities during the three-year certification period immediately preceding the renewal of the certificate. First-time applicants may also use credits earned during the calendar year they applied for the original certification.
If you obtain 45 contact hours of approved continuing education one or two years before the renewal deadline, you have the option of renewing your certificate early. These early renewals are done on a calendar year basis.
Each person participating in the Certification Program is responsible for keeping their own continuing education records and credits.
The State Library sends a reminder each November to individuals whose Certification will expire at the end of the calendar year. A completed Recertification Application along with documentation of continuing education activities are due at the State Library by January 31.
Please visit the Continuing Education page and the Continuing Education Catalog to see the options available to obtain CE credit.
