Continuing Education Options
There are a number of ways to obtain continuing education credit for Public Librarian Recertification:
- attending preplanned continuing education activities on specific topics offered by agencies, organizations, academic institutions and professional associations, for which no formal academic credit is being given
- doing learning assignments following continuing education activities
- attending live national teleconferences or webinars and/or watching the videotaped versions of continuing educational activities
- doing self-directed learning
- conducting an Individualized Continuing Education Plan
- taking a library or library-related course for academic credit
- serving as an instructor for a sponsored continuing education activity
- participating in professional library association activities
- writing a library-related article for a professional publication
Not all activities are eligible for Continuing Education Credit. Please see our list of ineligible activities or contact the Continuing Education Consultant.
