Teleconferences, Webinars and Videotaped programs

Library staff can obtain continuing education credit for attending national teleconferences, webinars and watching videotapes of library related continuing education programs.

Many teleconferences and webinars will issue continuing education certificates either through the organization providing the training or through a sponsoring organization (such as the State Library or LSA).

To obtain credit:

  • If a CE certificate is not issued, or you watch a video-taped program, you will need to fill out a Learning Activity Written Summary.  This is an online form that will go to the Continuing Education Consultant at the State Library.
  • After reviewing the information, the form will be e-mailed back to the person who submitted the form with the amount of continuing education credit awarded.  This e-mail will serve as a certificate and should be printed and saved with the person's other continuing education certificates.

The State Library has a number of videos available for checkout.

NOTE: No more than 10 of the 45 contact hours required for recertification may be obtained by watching videotapes of continuing education programs.
