Writing for a publication
You may receive continuing education credit by authoring a publication on a library science-related topic such as a book or a chapter thereof, a paper, or an article. It must be published in a refereed publication in the library/information science field and read primarily by those in the profession. Maximum number of hours received per published piece is 10.
To obtain credit:
- Complete Learning Activity Written Summary, including what type of publication you have written and the name of the book or journal in which it was published. This is an online form that will go to the Continuing Education Consultant at the State Library.
- After reviewing the information, the Learning Activity Written Summary will be e-mailed back to the person who submitted the form with the amount of continuing education credit awarded. This e-mail will serve as a certificate and should be printed and saved with the person's other continuing education certificates.
- If you are unsure whether a project qualifies for continuing education credit, please contact the Continuing Education Consultant.
