You can put an EBSCOhost icon on your desktop or computer screen for quick and easy access.

You can put an EBSCOhost icon on your desktop or computer screen for quick and easy access.
Instructions
IBM Compatible (Windows 2000, XP, etc)
- Minimize all windows.
- Right click in center of the Windows screen.
- Click New>Shortcut.
- In the text box, enter the URL of your choice:
- For EBSCO, enter: http://search.ebscohost.com/. This will bring up the prompt for the customer to put in your library's User ID and Password.
- If you do not have IP authentication and want the path to go directly to EBSCOhost without prompt for User ID and Password then cut and paste this URL into the text box: http://search.ebscohost.com/login.aspx?authtype=uid&user=[your userid here]&password=library. Then, replace [your userid here]with your library's User ID. If your library has a Password other than library, replace library with your library's Password.
- Click Next.
- In the text box, enter the shortcut name: EBSCOhost.
- Click Finish.
Macintosh w/Internet Explorer 4.01
- Type in the URL: http://search.ebscohost.com/
- Choose Favorites>Add Page to Favorites.
Choose Favorites>Open Favorites. - Click once on the Favorite you just created to highlight it.
Click File>Get Info.
In the URL text box, retype either http://search.ebscohost.com/ or http://search.ebscohost.com/login.aspx?authtype=uid&user=[your userid here]&password=library. Then, replace [your userid here]with your library's User ID. If your library has a Password other than library, replace library with your library's Password. - Click OK.
- Close or minimize the Internet Explorer Web Searching Window, leaving the Favorites window open.
- Click on the favorite and drag it outside of the Favorites box. The Favorite now appears on the desktop.
Macintosh w/Netscape 4.x
- Type in the URL: http://search.ebscohost.com/
- Click Bookmarks>Add Bookmark.
- Click Bookmarks>Edit Bookmarks.
- Locate and click once on the bookmark you just created.
- Click Edit>Get Info.
- In the URL text box, retype the URL: http://search.ebscohost.com/login.asp?user=xxxxx&password=xxxxx
- Minimize or close the Netscape URL Window.
- Click on the bookmark and drag it outside of the Bookmarks window. The bookmark now appears on the desktop.
