  • State of Iowa Contracts

Each year the State negotiates contracts with various vendors which offer libraries discounted pricing on books, videos, audio tapes, furniture, computers, software and copiers, plus many more products. The contract terms are available to all government entities: state, county and local. Click on "Current Contracts" in the middle of the page. To find Baker & Taylor's contract (CT1305MV50F6) for books, videos, audio tapes , click on the category "Publications". The table lists the vendors and contracts. If there is a contract listed, but the sale price is listed as $.00, contact the approved vendor for pricing. Particular items from these vendors change prices often, so contact the vendor to get the best pricing and to see how the discount is applied.

  • BCR

The Bibliographical Center for Research (BCR) is a nonprofit, multi-state library cooperative that has served the library community since its founding in 1935 by providing cost-effective library and information services. An agreement with the State Library of Iowa allows all types of libraries in Iowa to use BCR services as a member institution. Check "Reference Databases" for pricing on Britannica, Groiler, Gale, H.W. Wilson, Roth and many others. Check also "Discount on Products and Services" and also "Library and Office Supplies".
