Submit Your Plan
If a public library or Library Service Area has an existing technology plan, it should be reviewed to ensure that all necessary components for the E-rate program are addressed. Libraries may amend a current plan or submit a new plan to make changes or add services. Complexity of your plan is determined by the complexity of the e-rate services requested.
To facilitate the approval process, please follow the instructions outlined.
- Use the information in this section to help write the technology plan.
- Work with the library board and staff to develop a multi-year technology plan for the library.
- Be sure that all necessary components are included. Refer to the Technology Plan Checklist.
- Make three copies of the plan.
- Send one copy to Beth Marie Quanbeck, State Library of Iowa, 1112 E Grand Avenue, Des Moines, IA 50319
- Send one copy to your Library Service Area.
- Keep one set for your library file.
- Allow up to 60 days for the State Library to review the plan and approve it.
- The State Library will complete and mail a "Certification of Technology Plan Approval" for your file.
