Getting Started With Lapsits
- General program structure - When/where will it be? Will you require registration? How long will each program be? How many programs in a session? How many times a year will you offer it or will it be every week? How many will you allow in each session?
- What age range will you serve in this program? Lapsit programs are offered for children in ages ranging from birth through 2 years old or so. Some libraries divide their program into two: one for "prewalkers," one for "walkers."
- Will you allow older siblings? Will you allow day care providers?
- Once you start offering programming for the youngest, you will likely have an interest from agencies that offer services to families in need, so hopefully you will have the time and the budget to offer outreach services as well.
- What type of promotion do you want?
