Rate of Pay:               $62,637 - $93,956 annually.  Starting wage commensurate with education and experience.

Employment Status:    Full-time; FLSA: Exempt

Regular Hours:            Monday – Friday; 8:00 to 5:00 p.m.  Extra hours may be required depending on work load and monthly Library Board meetings.

Job Summary & Public Requirements:    

Seeking a qualified individual who will work under the general direction of the Urbandale Public
Library Board of Trustees. The ideal candidate for the Library Director position should be a person who is committed to providing the highest quality of service to the library patrons, staff, and the Board of Trustees.  This individual should have a proven track record of library administration, long-range library planning, and proven collaboration skills working with public and private entities to form working partnerships. Requirements:  The successful candidate for the Library Director must possess a Masters Degree from an accredited institution, in Library Science, six to eight years of public library work experience, with at least five years of supervisory library experience, and State of Iowa Public Librarian Level 6 Certification (or ability to obtain State of Iowa Public Librarian Level 6 Certification upon employment). 
  

Drug Test:        Post offer/pre-employment physical and drug test required.
