Bibliography of Non-fiction for Preschoolers

As part of my work with the statewide Every Child Reads team, I compiled an annotated bibliography of nonfiction for children ages 3-5 years, and it's available for your use on the State Library of Iowa website at http://www.statelibraryofiowa.org/ld/t-z/youthservices/early-child-lit/ECR/nonfiction-for-preschoolers/view.

The criteria for entry on the bibliography is as follows:

1)       The book was positively reviewed by at least one of the following publications:  Booklist, The Horn Book Magazine, The Bulletin of the Center for Children's Books, School Library Journal or Kirkus Reviews.

2)      Most of the books included were published in 2010, a few in 2009, one or two as early as 2007.

3)      The bibliography is divided into these categories:  Biography, Concepts, Math and Science, and Social Studies.
