PLOW
Putting Libraries on the Web
-
The State Library will provide nearly 300 libraries with their own Web sites and stable and consistent E-mail services.
-
PLOW is the most visible part of the $749,000 Staying Connected grant awarded to the State Library of Iowa from the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation to sustain and expand public access computing in Iowa public libraries.
-
The grant also includes technical support, training, Internet connectivity and computer upgrades and will be carried out 2005-2007.
-
Libraries eligible for Internet connectivity grants have already been contacted. Grants for computer upgrades will take place in the second half of 2007 and the State Library will inform libraries about how to request them.
