How to Publish an Item in Plone

• Private - it has not been published and it is not visible to the public. It is visible to a logged in author.
• Published - it is published and is visible to the public.

By default all newly created content is in a Private state.

A published item can be retracted to return it the Private state.

Publish an item

1. Log in as an author
   
2. Navigate to an item in the Private state
   
3. From the state: drop down menu in the upper right corner of the middle page section select publish

Retract an item

1. Log in as an author
   
2. Navigate to an item in the Published state
   
3. From the state: drop down menu in the upper right corner select retract
