State of Iowa Libraries Online

Resource Sharing

  • See important news about the Iowa Locator changes in 2008
  • We offer resource sharing services, including the Iowa Locator and SILO ILL, to all types of libraries in Iowa.
  • The Iowa Locator Union Catalog contains over 15 million holdings from 703 Iowa libraries of all types.
  • The SILO Interlibrary Loan System was used to fill over 106 thousand requests from October of 2005 through September of 2006.

Hosted Services

  • We provide DNS, e-mail, and web hosting services to Iowa's public libraries.
  • DNS and e-mail hosting services are available to any public library with a high-speed Internet connection.
  • Web hosting service will be made available through the PLOW Project as part of the Staying Connected Grant from Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation.
