How To Convert Outlook From POP3 to IMAP Access

Accounts cannot be disabled in Outlook, instead they must be deleted. Deleting a POP3 account from Outlook does not not delete any messages associated with the account. All of your existing messages will remain under the "Outlook Today" folder list.

  1. Start Outlook
  2. From the Tools menu select the E-mail Accounts option.
  3. Select the account from the list that shows a type of POP3.
  4. Click on the Remove button.
  5. When asked, "Are sure you want to remove the account?", click on the Yes button.
  6. Click on the Finish button.
  7. Follow the instructions in the "How To: Add Your SILO E-mail Account to Outlook" guide.
