Set Up the MAPI Connector

  1. Download the MAPI connector to your desktop.
  2. Double-click on CGatePro-MAPI-Intel on your desktop.
  3. Double-click on setup.
  4. In the CommuniGate Pro Connector Setup window, click on the Install button.
  5. In the CommuniGate Pro Connector Setup window, click on the Yes button to configure your Mail Profile.
  6. In the Mail Setup - Outlook window, click on the E-mail Accounts... button.
  7. Select the View or change existing e-mail accounts option.
  8. Click on the Next > button.
  9. Select the POP3 account used to connect to your SILO e-mail.
  10. Click on the Remove button.
  11. When the window pops up asking if you are sure you want to remove the account, click on the Yes button.
  12. Click on the Add button.
  13. Select the Additional Server Types option.
  14. Click on the Next > button.
  15. In the Additional Server Types window, click on the Next > button.
  16. In the Server Name: field, enter mail.lsa.lib.ia.us where lsa is the name of your library service area as it appears in your domain name.
  17. In the Server port number: field, enter 993
  18. In the Account name: field, enter your full e-mail address, e.g. username@lsa.lib.ia.us
  19. In the Password: field, enter your password.
  20. If you would like Outlook to start without prompting for a password, check the Remember password checkbox.
  21. Uncheck the Use Secure Authentication checkbox.
  22. Click on the OK button.
  23. A window will pop up, warning The E-Mail Account you have just added will not start until you choose Exit from the File menu, and then restart Microsoft Outlook.
  24. Click on the OK button.
  25. Click on the Finish button.
  26. Click on the Close button.
  27. Exit out of Microsoft Outlook and restart it.

Additional Settings That Should Be Changed

  1. Pull-down the Tools menu and select the Options... option.
  2. Select the Mail Format tab.
  3. From the Compose in this format menu, select the Plain Text option.
  4. Verify that the Use Microsoft Word to edit e-mail messages option is unchecked.
  5. Verify that the Use Microsoft Word to read Rich Text e-mail messages option is unchecked.
  6. Click on the OK button.
