How To: Convert Thunderbird from POP3 to IMAP Access

  1. Start Thunderbird
  2. Pull-down the Tools menu and select Account Settings...
  3. In the left pane, select the Server Settings option.
  4. Uncheck the Check for new messages at startup checkbox.
  5. Uncheck the Check for new messages every checkbox.
  6. Uncheck the Automatically download new messages checkbox.
  7. Follow the instructions in the "How To: Add Your SILO E-mail Account to Thunderbird" guide.
