SILO Interlibrary Loan

Libraries borrow books and other materials from each other using the SILO interlibrary loan system. Requests are handled electronically, which means people get the materials they need much more quickly. Even the smallest library is able to both borrow and provide materials to other libraries.

  • How to request multiple copies of a title

    Use separate ILL borrower request transactions for each copy desired, using different lending libraries for each request. For example, generate 10 ILL transactions if you need 10 copies for your book club.

    Iowa libraries that currently loan audio recordings in cassette tape format as indicated by their ILL policy information.

  • Audio Books & Musical Recordings (CD)

    Iowa libraries that currently loan audio recordings in CD format as indicated by their ILL policy information.

  • Videos (VHS)

    Iowa libraries that currently loan video recordings in VHS format as determined by their ILL policy information.

  • Videos (DVD)

    Iowa libraries that currently loan videos in DVD format as indicated by their ILL policy information.
