Z39.50 Search and Retrieval Protocol Information

The SILO Program no longer maintains search interfaces or profiles for Z39.50 servers operated by Iowa libraries.  If you are interested in connecting to an Iowa library catalog via Z39.50, please contact the library directly.  Many libraries restrict access to the Z39.50 server provided by their integrated library system.  You many be required to authenticate with a user name and password, or you may need to provide the library with a limited range of IP addresses.

The Locator

We recently moved The Locator to a new database system.  The Locator now supports both Z39.50 and the newer SRU/SRW search and retrieval protocols.  We will provide server profile information here, after we've finalized the configuration of the indexes.
