How to Convert Web pages and MS Word Documents to Plone
You can use existing text in electronic form from an old Web site or a MS Word document to create library Web pages in Plone. It is necessary to remove all HTML formatting or MS Word formatting before inserting it on a page in Plone. The easiest way to do this is to use Notepad. Pasting electronic text in Notepad keeps the text but removes all formatting.
- Open existing document or Web page
- Select the text that you want to add to a Plone page
- Copy the text to the clipboard by using Edit - Copy
- Open Notepad - Start-Programs-Accessories-Notepad
- Paste the text into Notepad by usingĀ Edit - Paste
- Select the newly unformatted text by usingĀ Edit - Select All
- Copy the text to the clipboard by using Edit - Copy
- Open your PLOW Web site
- Log in as an author
- Navigate to the page you want to edit

navigate to the folder and from the Add Item drop down menu click Page - Edit or Add metadata if necessary
- In the Body Text field paste the contents of the clipboard by using Edit - Paste
- Format text if necessary using the Kupu Editor
- At the bottom of the page, click the save button
