How-to Install the Picasa Image Editing Software

  • Open a web browser and navigate to picasa.google.com
  • Click Try Picasa Now
  • Click Save or Save File
  • Select your Desktop as the location to save the file to
  • Double click the new file on your desktop (picasaweb-current-setup.exe)
  • Click Run
  • Click I Agree
  • Click Install
  • Check/uncheck the boxes for your preferred settings
    • Create Shortcut on Desktop - option will create a desktop shortcut for you
    • Add Shortcut to Quick Launch - option will create a shortcut in your quick launch bar (small icons to the right of your start menu)
    • Show System Tray Icon at Startup - option will show the startup icon in your system tray (icons by the time indicator on the right side of your task bar)
    • Run Picasa - option will start the program after you click Finish
    • Set Google as my default search engine in IE - will set the set box in the upper right hand corner of your IE window to use Google.
  • Click Finish
