How to create a Nested List

Caveat

Because of certain limitations of the Kupu editor, it is strongly suggested that you do not use the mouse in the text editor while creating a nested list.

Creating a Nested List

Creating a nested list is simply creating a list within a list. The following steps will produce a consistent Ordered List.

  1. In the Kupu editor, click the "Numbered List" button.
  2. Begin typing your list items Parent List.
  3. To create(indent) a Nested List, press Shift + Enter.
NOTE: This step is the actual "Nested List".  As aforementioned, a nested list is a list within a list.
    1. In the Kupu editor, click on the "Numbered List" button again.
    2. Begin typing your list items for your Nested List.
  4. To close your nested list, press Enter three (3) times.

These instructions also apply to an Unordered(bulleted) List.  In the steps above, replace "Ordered List" with "Unordered List".

Tips and Tricks

To change the Numbers in the list to Letters or Roman Numerals:

  1. Within the list that you wish to change, click on any of the list items.
  2. On the numbered list menu, click the appropriate number/letter. e.g. 1, I, i, a, A

Closing a nested list item:

  • Pressing Enter once will create a new list item.
  • Pressing Enter twice will close the nested list, but the Parent List will remain open.  This could cause problems with the rest of the content on that page.
  • Pressing Enter three times will close the Nested List completely.
