By the end of the class participants will be able to:

  1. List some qualities of good Web writing
  2. Define a Content Management System
  3. Describe the elements of a Plone site
  4. List some metadata elements
  5. Describe work flow in Plone
  6. List the major sections of the PLOW model Web site
  7. State the purpose of the major sections of the PLOW model Web site
  8. Define some additional features of a Plone Web site
  9. State the differences of the PLOW Web site between an anonymous user and a logged-in user
  10. Use Merlin, the PLOW wizard to add content to the site
  11. Add, delete and manage users for the site
  12. Describe what workflow is in Plone
  13. Find a specific page in the library’s Web site
  14. Edit a page:
  15. List, define and state the qualities of page metadata on the “Edit” tab including shortname, title, description, and body.
  16. Add new body text by:
  17. Writing from scratch

  12. Use the built-in image handling in Plone to add images the PLOW Web site

  16. Plan how they continue the work started in class to customize their website
  17. Plan how they will publicize new Website and e-mail addresses
