Metadata Used by Plone

Metadata is used by Plone on every content type. Use the information for each metadata element to correctly enter the metadata.

Short name: Provide a shortname for every content type. The short name will become part of the document’s URL, so keep the name short and descriptive. Do not use spaces. Do not use underscores. Hyphens are okay. Keeping to these rules will make URLs easier to read. For example, use something such as "lrp-2006".

Title: This field is required. This is the title for the item, and it’ll be shown throughout the site (for example, at the top of the page, in the search interface, in the title of the browser, and so on).  Make it descriptive and fairly short. Use book title capitalization rules. For example, "Long Range Plan 2006"

Description: Necessary but not required. This is a short lead-in to the document, usually about 20 words to introduce the document and provide a teaser for the remainder of the document. This is useful for pages that show summaries of documents, such as search results and folder contents.  The description is directed at user and helps the user determine usefulness of the document. It is less than a paragraph; it does not need to be written in complete sentences, phrases are okay.  For example: "This document, prepared by the Library Board, is the plan of what is going to happen at the library over the next few years. It shows what we set as priorities to meet the needs of our community."

Body Text - The red square means this is required. This is the actual content of the document. You can type plain text or HTML.
