Why Do People Value Your Library?

Make plenty of copies of one of these color sheets that ask your customers to finish the following sentences/question:

• My Library is the Greatest Because... 
  
• How has the library changed your or your families' lives?
• Please share your story...
  
  Have them available on the reference desk and then use them to tell the library story.  You may be surprised and delighted by the responses you receive.
  
  If you get a truly amazing story, ask if you can use it in presentations to your board for other  community groups and at budget hearings.  During National Library Week you may want to plaster the walls with them!  It doesn't matter whether people sign them, but let them know you may want to use them to tell the library story.
