Basic Program Structure
The key to success is to plan short activities that move along seamlessly at a relaxed pace. The opening and closing rituals should be the same each week; parents and babies enjoy the predictability of a pattern.
Repeat the rhymes you have chosen each week, and add new ones as your parents gain confidence in learning and remembering the rhymes.
The stories, whether they are read-aloud books, felt stories, pop-ups, big books, or told stories, need to be short. Parents and babies alike enjoy stories that are told with lots of expression and stories that involve participation.
