Youth Services Advisory Councils
The two Youth Services Advisory Councils--the Children's Services Advisory Council and the Teens' Services Advisory Council--are two groups of librarians interested in services to children and teens/young adults in public libraries. The Children's Services Advisory Council includes children's librarians, public library directors and district library consultants. The Teens' Services Advisory Council Council includes teens' services librarians, public library directors, and district library consultants. The Councils are chaired by the State Library's Youth Services Consultant and provide advice and support for State Library services and programs related to youth. Members are chosen to represent geographic regions, a variety of community sizes, and particular interests relating to youth services. Appointments are made by the State Library and are for three years; however, in the appointments made in 2011 to these two newly reformed Councils, appointments will be rolling, and will be from one to three years. A person interested in serving on the Council should complete one of these two surveys to be considered:
