The State Library and Summer Reading Programs
The State Library of Iowa believes strongly in the importance of a Summer Reading program, and, with the public libraries around the State, promotes a vigorous Summer Reading program.
Each year the State Library provides a summer reading program for public libraries. Each library receives free children's and teen program manuals for the current theme, invitations to free summer workshops and a chance to order materials at a group rate.

The 2009 Summer Library Children's theme is "Be Creative at Your Library" and the Teen theme is "Express Yourself at Your Library."
The workshops will be presented around the State Oct 21-31. Locations will be announced shortly.
The Summer Library Program is supported by the Institute of Museum and Library Services under the provisions of the Library Services and Technology Act as administered by the State Library of Iowa.
