Filling Out the Annual Survey with Web Collect
Bibliostat Collect is a Web-based product developed to make it possible to submit public library statistics electronically.
Log in to Web Collect (requires Internet Explorer 5 or higher)
Warning: Pop Up Blocker software must be disabled to use Web Collect.
To bypass popup blockers hold down the Ctrl key and click on login (while holding down Ctrl). If you have trouble seeing the Update buttons at the bottom of a page, press F11. When printing, use the web option (not .pdf).

Download Required Software
- Web Collect requires the Microsoft Internet Explorer web browser, version 5 or higher. The browser may be downloaded for no charge from www.microsoft.com/windows/ie.
- To print reports, you will need Adobe Acrobat Reader, which can be downloaded without charge from www.adobe.com/products/acrobat/readermain.html.

Getting Started
- Connect to the Internet, and start Internet Explorer. Go to collect.informata.com
- Log in (see example) using the Web Collect user name and password. Click on "Login".
Login and password information have been sent by the State Library as part of the Tier Status packet. - Follow the instructions sent in the Annual Survey packet from the State Library. See Web Collect instructions (.pdf)
- Navigation and data entry (see example)
- To move from section to section, use the hyperlinks in the Survey Navigation box.
- To move up and down the page, use the scroll bar on the right side of the section box.
- To enter data (see example) in the appropriate box, left-click in the box or use the Tab key.
- To activate calculated fields or save data to the server, click on the "Update" button at the bottom of each section.
- Additional Features
- The data from last year (see example) is displayed to the left of the data entry box.. This data is view only.
- When you click on a data element number, the definition and instructions (see example) for that field will be displayed if available.
- The gray flag to the right of the data element box may be selected by clicking on the flag with the mouse. You may return to flagged selections by choosing "Status and Printing/View All Flagged Questions".
- Notes can be made in the gray box to the right (see example) of the flag for each question. Enter the note in the "Federal" section and click on "ok."
- To print the survey, select "Status and Printing/Survey Reports". You must have Adobe Acrobat Reader loaded on your computer. Once the report is generated, click on the "Get Report" link to view and/or print the annual survey from Web Collect.
- State Library and Library Service Area
- You are not required to send a print copy of the survey to the State Library or the LSA.
- When you click on Submit, the program checks for blank fields and values that are flagged. Any problems are displayed and need to be checked. If there are no edit checks, your survey is locked.
- The deadline for receipt of annual surveys is Oct. 31. It would be most helpful if the annual survey was in by the end of September.
- Do not change your password. The State Library will support only the password mailed to your library.
