Judy Jones' Retirement Party
December 22, 2006
State Library Consultant Judy Jones will retire December 28 after 13 1/2 years helping libraries with grants and grant writing, e-rate, LSTA grants, EBSCOhost and many other things.
At her retirement party on December 22, Library Development staff wrote and read the following to Judy.
Ode to Judy
Yes, what you hear is really true,
And it is making many of us very blue.
That Judy, she is leaving us
We really think she is a lucky cuss.
Just our luck this time of year,
Oh what will we do we all should fear.
When Judy came to the State Library, it was a great day
Because she took care of LSTA.
Judy always knew when to set the date
For libraries to apply for Erate.
She kept libraries informed about grants
To do this without her scares us out of our pants.
What a difference she made with IEC
Through her libraries had discounts, you see.
A Cyclone fan she is through and through
Which almost made Steve come down with the flu.
Up early and traveling I35 and 235 will be no more,
As she has better and bigger plans in store!
A lady of leisure she will be,
Maybe even a trip to Tahiti?
Meetings, reports, phone calls will be a thing of the past
As to other library staff these have been cast.
We will miss you, Ms. Jones
Just ignore our moans and groans.
And have fun being free
Just think, you can have afternoon tea.
Spend time doing things that interest you
To make your life feel brand new.
