Remembering Beth Marie
Beth Marie was so good to work
with. She came to work in the morning
cheerful, was always wonderfully organized. Her desk was so neat that you could
see what material it was constructed of, she was knowledgeable about things I knew
nothing about (starting with e-rate), and those were only some of her good
qualities. But she did share one trait
with me. Before I was going to retire in March 2002, Beth Marie and I decided we should weed the files so I would not bequeath to
someone else files organized in way that wouldn't make sense. So Beth Marie bought a kitchen timer and we
were to spend 15 minutes every day working on files. But she threw the directions away with the
packaging, and neither one of us could figure out how to make the timer
work. We took that as a sign the files
were to be left as they were.
